SWISS ALPS MINING: LEAPFROGGING TECHNOLOGICALLY



The beginning of mining in Switzerland go back 3500 years. Mining sites from the fourteenth and 15th century are known in Graubunden and Wallis. The technical development of the various epochs influenced mining: the sixteenth and 17th century represented in many places, a high point in the development of mining, in the same way as the first half of the 19th century. Mining was heavily reduced during both of the two world wars. The last two iron ore were closed in the 1960s; 1967 was definitely the end of mining in Switzerland.

But that is about to change as Mining farms are rapidly growing, and renewable energies are gaining ground. Renewable energy can be exported, and enjoys high market acceptance. The steady growth in the use of blockchain technology globally only adds impetus to it, energy consumption for mining will continue to increase. This provides interesting opportunities for providers of mining facilities and for power producers.

THE SWISS ALPS IS STEPPING IN

The goal of Swiss Alps Mining & Energy is to create an environmentally friendly mining of crypto currencies in the Swiss Alps. Swiss Alps Energy AG (SAE) is Swiss Alps Mining & Energy’s operating business. SAE is a Swiss startup company in the area of crypto mining and energy, located in Huenenberg, Canton of Zug.

SAE plans to start operating crypto mining farms in the Swiss Alps in 2018 – a pioneering project. These farms are situated in buildings no longer used by local farmers. SAE will at the same time operate small hydropower plants to produce the electricity needed for crypto mining.

 CONCERNS IN THE SUB-SECTOR

The energy used worldwide for bitcoin mining alone equals the electricity consumption of Ireland. Not only that, mining in authoritarian countries threatens the philosophy of the distributed ledger system and increases the risk of market manipulation.

To address the above issues, a future oriented strategy is needed. Such a strategy must meet the following criteria:
• use of climate-friendly energy for mining processes
• independent stabilization of the distributed ledger network
• increased usability of cryptocurrencies and the underlying technology for the wider public.

The company aims to advance the digital transformation and bring it to consumers and businesses alike. WAYS THE BLOCKCHAIN CAN SAVE THE ENVIRONMENT

It’s already getting used in banking and payments, but most people don’t realize that this same technology can be used to solve the major environmental problems we are facing today on our planet. If adopted globally, it can even help stop or reverse climate change.

They make it possible to track and verify transactions and interactions without a centralized authority. This can significantly increase transparency, efficiency, and accountability of environmental projects.
